Adrien Yvon graduated in 2014 from the University of Manchester (UK) with an MBChB with European Option. In 2013, he graduated with the Distinction award for his Master’s degree in Research in Medical Sciences from the University of Manchester, for which he had received a school bursary award. During this time, he studied the properties of human adipose-derived-stem-cells. In addition to laboratory work, he has also been involved in clinical research, participating in the development of a disease specific patient questionnaire. Moreover, he has undertaken medical placements abroad in the renowned university hospitals of the Autonoma University of Madrid (Spain) and the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), and speaks several languages fluently. He has also contributed to peer reviewed publications, and presented at various national and international conferences.
Adrien is starting work as an Academic Foundation Doctor at the University Hospital of South Manchester (UHSM). He has been involved in student mentoring throughout medical school, participating in the Fastbleep Mentoring Scheme, which helps students from underprivileged backgrounds apply to medical school. He was also an International Mentor for incoming medical students from oversees, providing them with social and academic support throughout their first year in Manchester. During a humanitarian placement in Huancayo, Peru, he taught medical English and clinical examinations to hospital staff, and has also been involved in teaching at several OSCE revision courses.
In his spare time, Adrien enjoys sports and music. He was President of the University of Manchester Dance Society, the largest student organisation in Manchester, where he organised classes, competitions and charity shows.
