Andy graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011, where he gained a First Class intercalated degree in Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience).  His research focused on a novel neuropeptide and he has presented his work nationally and contributed to peer reviewed publication as well as numerous other presentations.  His work led him to be awarded a grant from the Society for Endocrinology allowing him to continue his research at the University of California, San Diego.  During his undergraduate clinical training he completed a sub-internship in Trauma Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He has a strong interest in teaching and for the last 3 years has been invited to lecture at the University of Birmingham to the MBChB Year 1 undergraduates.  He was awarded an Academic Foundation Programme in Clinical Pharmacology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust where he is currently working.
