Applying to AFP in 2018?

This year's course will be in London on Saturday 8 September 2018. Please click here to register.

Providing the best in education and training

The AFP course was established in 2011 to allow all applicants to benefit from the advice and trade secrets which have traditionally been reserved for a select few. This has since become THE course to attend for students wishing to gain a place on the Academic Foundation Programme, and with success rates over 87%, it's easy to see why. The academic foundation programme is prestigious, fiercely competitive and can often precipitate a long-lasting and successful career in academic medicine. We provide a unique training opportunity for career guidance and candidate coaching for prospective applicants.

The course is suitable for medical students in their final two years of undergraduate medical training. It's delivered by recent entrants and graduates of the Academic Foundation Programme itself.

In 2014, we began to offer a new course for Core Surgical Training.

New initiatives

We are in the final stages of developing a range of other exciting courses, all based on the belief and concept that competition for recruitment should be open and fair. This relies on all candidates having the relevant information. We teach you the crucial points, and pearls of knowledge that are left off the curriculum.

Provision of Speakers for External Events

Based on talks given at our courses, our speakers have been invited to a range of events including those held at Bristol, Imperial, UCL and the Royal College of Physicians. Get in touch if you'd like to know more.
