Ellie graduated from University College London in 2017. She secured her first choice Academic Foundation Programme post in Edinburgh and is due to undertake an Ophthalmology-based project.
Ellie received a First Class Honours intercalated degree in Primary Health Care during her time at UCL, during which she carried out research on mental illness within the medical profession that has been published in the BMJ Open and presented at a number of national conferences, in addition to winning the UCL departmental research prize. She has since thrived in academia and has published work in the British Journal of Haematology and is a reviewer for scientific journals.
At medical school, Ellie was Chair of Acamedics, a scheme that links medical students with consultant supervisors to undertake clinical research projects. Through this, she has overseen the formation of over 140 different projects and the participation of over 170 different medical students. Her involvement in the scheme has included organising two national symposiums with oral and poster presentations, in addition to presenting to The Royal College of Physicians' Research and Academic Medicine Committee meeting.
